Mr Schultz,
I bought a pair of stock whips from you at the beginning of the
month (5'6" 8 plait). I have waited until they have broken-in
before writing. While they still are not totally broken-in, I
must say they have exceeded expectations. They fal better than
any of the whips I have gotten from Mike Murphy or Janine Fraser.
At first I was a bit worried
about the weight of the whips but I have found that they crack
much better when the whip is going slow than a lighter whip.
In fact, I have found that your whips respond very well to slow
cracking adn are quite controllable. The thing I like best is
the effortless way the whips crack and they crack with a solid
sound. I also like the fact that the whips move smoothly when
the thong makes the transition from front to back without a noticeable
jerk - very nice.
Although it doesn't do anything
for the performance of the whips, I admire the plaiting you did
on the handles. I think the only thing I would do differently
is I might have ha you do half plait handles. I kind of like
them but I also like the way these whips look as well.
Thanks for a great pair of whips.

Dear Mr Schultz,
I felt I had to drop you a quick note to thank you for making
such a fantastic whip. I have had various inexpensive or cheap
bullwhips since I was a kid and into my thirties. All had weak
cracks and few lasted more than a month without major problems.
I had given up on ever being able to crack whips with a good
report and never got close to being able to do any accurate target
work.
I turned 56 last month and as
I guess all of us do when we get older, reflected on some of
the things I wish I had mastered before this age. Working a whip
was at the top of my list. web searching I found Western Stage
Prop in LAs vegas. I spoke with Marty who took the time to tell
me about some of the ships I had seen on thier webpage. When
I told him I thought my first choice might be a Brady model followed
by a Jacka trget whip he advised he was out of stock on all,
but would look in the warehouse to see what else he could offer.
When he got back on the phone he advised me he did find one of
the Brady line of whips that was somewhat of a different kind
of bullwhip in that it was a non-standard size and known as a
MkII. he was not sure what it was made for, but assumed if it
was in the Brady line it must be for show cracking. (Perhaps
if time allows, you could tell me what you were thinking the
function of this whip would be as you were building it.)
Regardless, when the whip arrived
I was immediately taken by the apparent quality of the construction.
I had never seen braiding or plaiting lay so flat and smooth.
This was a 12 plait by the way. After a quick and light application
of leather dressing I set baout trying some vertical and horizontal
cracks. All I can say is wow! The whip crakced everytime.
I practiced until I was sure
my arm was about to fall off and I was dripping wet in sweat.
I have now had the whip for five days and am cracking with little
or no effort (no sweat). My wife and kids were out for a late
afternoon walk yesterday, when she got home she told me they
could hear my cracking while over 250 years from the house.
I rigged a target pole and hold
two targets on a horizontal plane and one in vertical. I have
a ways to go fo consistency but I am having unbeleiveable success
in multiple cuts (up to three) on the same target (some thick
skinned dried leafs about 6-8" long).
Needless to say, this is the
best whip I have ever owned and can't thank you enough for building
such a fine "do it all" whip.
I would like to get some more
of your whips, but I can't imagine one any better than this one.
Perhaps a set of twin brother whips!?
Best regards

Howdy Mate,
You don't know me, but I've recently become a customer of yours
through Mark Allen...which if you'll notice below, you referred
me to. In teh last couple of months I've purchased 4 of your
6' bullwhips and Mark Allen told me you are currently making
me a 10 footer.
I've been making a living for
over 15 years as a Professional Wild West Performer...whips,
guns, trick roping. I want you to know your whips are the finest
I've used to date. So much so, that I'm switching to them exclusively.
I wish I would have known about you years ago!
Thanks for the awesome whips.
Keep up the good work. I'll definately be investing in more as
the years go by.

Mr Schultz,
A year ago I ordered a 5'6" pair of 8 plait whip from you.
By now of course they are nicely broken-in and they are even
better than when I got them. They fall great and have withstood
almost daily use 9an hour or more a day), with no problems. even
the original falls are still almost as long as they where when
I got them from you.
Just wanted to say 'good job'.
Take care,
John Hudson
